The University of Oviedo is a public university located in the city of Oviedo (Asturias, Spain), with campuses in Oviedo, Gijón and Mieres. The UNIOVI has more than 3,100 researchers, 196 research groups and its members have published more than 95,000 scientific works, 6,600 doctoral theses and 35,000 open access works. The PhD education is supported by a university-wide campus, the campus of international excellence, which ensures the quality of the different programs. UNIOVI offers a total of 30 doctoral programs in different areas: arts and humanities (3), sciences (9), healthcare (3), social and legal sciences (6), engineering and architecture (9). The Computer Science Department is the largest at the University of Oviedo, with more than 130 professors and researchers. The department is divided into 4 areas of knowledge: computer architecture and technology, computer science and artificial intelligence, telematics engineering, and computer languages and systems. It has a total of 10 research groups on multiple topics and a research team.

Prof. Vicente García Díaz focuses on health informatics, together with e-learning, the design and analysis of algorithms and the design of domain-specific languages.
Research experience: Vicente García Díaz is part of the editorial and advisory board of several indexed journals and conferences and has been editor of several special issues in books and indexed journals. He has supervised 100+ academic projects and published 100+ research papers in journals, conferences, and books. His teaching interests are primarily in the design and analysis of algorithms and the design of domain-specific languages. His current research interests include decision support systems, health informatics and e-learning. He is the principal investigator of several research contracts with national and international companies.
Prof. Edward Rolando Núñez Valdez specializes in research aimed at finding solutions through recommendation systems, machine learning techniques, and other innovative methods to enhance user experiences. His focus is on providing more precise recommendations tailored to the specific needs of users across different contexts or domains. E. R. Núñez Valdez will supervise doctoral candidates DC4 under WP2 activities and will be the promoter for their doctoral dissertations.
Research experience: E. R. Nuñez Valdez has focused his efforts on developing innovative solutions using recommendation systems, machine learning techniques, and other advanced methods to enhance user experiences in various domains. Over the course of his professional journey, he actively contributed to numerous research projects. E. R. Nuñez Valdez has worked in various software development companies and IT consulting firms, demonstrating a versatile skill set. His research interests encompass artificial intelligence, recommendation systems, health informatics, software modelling using domain-specific languages, and model-driven engineering.
