The Silesian University of Technologypolitechnika sl logo pion en rgb 150 it is the oldest (since 1946) and largest (18 000 students, 3 200 employs including 1 700 academic research staff in 14 faculties) technical university in the region of Silesia in Poland. TUAI key persons

Prof. Jerry Chun-Wei Lin focusses on data mining and analytics, artificial intelligence, optimisation and privacy preservation and security. Research experience: J. C. W. Lin has focused on developing a new "utility-driven" framework, which has been widely used in different domains and applications to retrieve useful and meaningful utility patterns. This utility concept can be used in the product return prediction and can be combined with several ML/DL models

 

Prof. Dariusz Mrozek focusses on the new generation of the IoT and  artificial intelligence in various areas, ranging from manufacturing to life sciences. Research experience: Internet of Things, information systems, Artificial Intelligence, parallel and Cloud computing, databases and Big data, bioinformatics, data lakes in Cyber-Physical Systems and flexible merging of data streams from IoT devices. He is currently the vice dean of AEI Faculty and is responsible for international cooperation and industrial projects and the Head of the Applied Informatics Department. He was twice a laureate of the Microsoft Azure for Research Award  which were in 2014 and 2016 by Microsoft Research in the USA.

 

Prof. Rafał Cupek focusses on the new generation of Manufacturing Execution Systems, industrial communication systems and data mining methods that are used for manufacturing support. Research experience: developed a methodology to analyse the relationships between production technology and energy consumption by a production station under FP7-2011-NMP-ICTFoF project EMC2 (2012-2014), developed and implemented a Manufacturing Execution System dedicated to supporting short-run production in Continental Ingolstadt under the FP7 -PEOPLE-2013-IAPP Project AutoUniMo (2013-2017), the principal investigator and project manager for Polish-Norwegian project CoBotAGV (2020-2024)that focus on flexible manufacturing.
