Western Norway University of Applied Sciences is one of the largest higher education institutions in Norway with 16 000 students and offers Bachelor, Master and Ph.D. studies primarily in education, engineering, health and social sciences. Researchers at HVL work in multidisciplinary teams and in close cooperation with universities, research institutes and organisations at the local, national and international levels. HVL`s dedicated role in community development makes it an important partner for local authorities as well as for industry, hospitals, health- and social care institutions, schools, kindergartens and culture institutions. HVL hosts several research centres such as the Mohn Centre for Innovation and Regional Development, CASE – Centre of Creativities, Arts and Science in Education, CACC – Centre for Arts, Culture and Communication, Centre for new media and KINDKNOW – Kindergarten Knowledge Centre for Systemic Research on Diversity and Sustainable Futures, CER – Centre for Educational Research. The research activities that are of particular relevance to this project are conducted under ICT engineering.
TUAI key persons
Prof. Volker Stolz works in formal methods for software engineering. His interest is in runtime verification and monitoring, most recently applied to distributed systems, and refactoring-related research in programming languages, with a focus on concurrency and actor models.
Research experience: He has been/is management committee member of the EU COST Actions IC1402 “Runtime Verification Beyond Monitoring” and CA20111 “European Research Network on Formal Proofs”. He has been site-leader for the EU H2020 RIA “COEMS – Continuous Observation of Embedded Multicore Systems”, and coordinator of bilateral research-and education-oriented networking projects with China, Brazil and France.
Prof. Marcin Fojcik focusses on Information and communication technology, computer networking and network communication.
Research experience: His research involves the evaluating and using the existing protocols in different areas such as industry, telecare, medicine, smart home and autonomous vehicles.
