Networking, Dissemination and Communication

Leader: Marcin Fojcik (HVL)

Objectives

  • To share the knowledge and research experiences that are acquired in the research domains of the project
  • To increase the visibility of research conducted under the TUAI project via joint dissemination activities that are addressed to the global community of the researchers who deal with artificial intelligence
  • To increase awareness about the issues that are associated with AI implementation for two target groups: the engineering community and the general public

Tasks:

T1: Networking and Sharing

Two summer and two winter schools will be organised over the course of the project – one each year. The main goal is to present the domain knowledge and research experiences to all of the DCs that are participating in the TUAI project via (i) the lectures that will be given by experienced researchers including all of the DCs’ supervisors; (ii) practical trainings that will be prepared by a given research team including the supervisors and DCs; (iii) seminars that will enable the theoretical and practical research results to be better understood; (iv) transferable skills including open software project management, social and economic aspects social robustness of AI, IPR issues and innovation management. Moreover, the transferable skills training activities will also be included into the agendas of the summer and winter schools. Undoubtedly, the TUAI project will enable a closer cooperation including both the academic and non-academic TUAI partners.

Hybrid research workshops will be provided for every research WP, which will deal with the relevant research sub-topics and support the specific research-oriented objectives. The workshops will be organised as cyclic (weekly or biweekly) seminar classes during the academic semesters and will be prepared by the research team that is working on the research objectives that have been defined for a given WP. The hybrid organisation will consist in the direct participation of all of the DCs and ERs who are in the unit organising the workshop, short visits of DCs and ERs from other units to enable their partial direct participation in the workshop, availability of workshop materials and enabling remote discussion through question sessions and responses to ensure continuity for any participants who are unable to participate directly. PhD students’ participation will be enforced by the availability for trainings’ participation under regular classes for the doctoral students that are conducted at the doctoral schools at partner universities. The applied research workshops  will be prepared by research and development departments of industrial associated partners, together with universities responsible for relevant academia part and DC involved in applied research directly.

T2: Scientific Dissemination

The target audiences for dissemination activities under T2 is (i) the scientific research community in order to increase the visibility of the research that is performed in the TUAI project and to share the output of the individual (DCs) and joint (WPs) research projects to the world-wide research community that is focused on AI development and (ii) PhD and MSc students from the TUAI university partners in order to raise the interest of MSc and PhD students to continue their scientific careers including the area of applying distributed artificial intelligence in a new generation of manufacturing. The first audience will be addressed via open access publications in high impact journals and special sessions at the top international conferences, and moreover a special final conference for the TUAI project will summarise all of the research activities and the results that are obtained. The project website and YouTube channel will support access to the publication output and materials from the summer/winter schools and workshops.

T3: Communication

The target audiences for the communication activities will be (i) the engineering community in order to increase their interest in the use of the innovative TUAI results and (ii) the general public in order to increase the visibility of the project and to increase public interest in the Marie Curie Actions. The first audience will be addressed via presentations at events that will be organised by the partner organisations and direct contacts. The second audience will be addressed on Open Days and Science Nights.
